Nathan Mutchnick
Speech-Language Pathologist
I’m Nathan Mutchnick, founder of Leap Ahead Therapy Services. My passion for speech-language pathology began with my own early struggles with Dyslexia. As a kid, I felt “different” and frustrated by reading and writing, until a skilled SLP used my strengths in creativity and problem-solving to help me succeed. That experience inspired me to support others with learning and communication differences.
I earned my B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Wayne State University (2012) and my M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University (2014). I specialize in Family Guided Routines Based Intervention (FGRBI), early intervention, ASD, play-based language therapy, cognitive-communication skills, sensory-informed approaches, and vocational rehabilitation. I’ve worked in hospitals, inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, home health, schools, and a vocational program in Detroit helping individuals with cognitive and social communication challenges prepare for meaningful employment. I’ve completed extensive continuing education in sensory processing and regulation and have received ASHA’s Award for Continuing Education (ACE) twice, reflecting my commitment to evidence-based care.
I moved to Colorado in 2022 with my wife and two children. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me hiking, trail running, mountain biking, or spending time playing with my kids.

Becca Harper
Speech-Language Pathologist
I’ve been practicing as a speech-language pathologist for almost eight years and earned a dual certification as a board-certified behavior analyst in 2022. I’ve worked with individuals from birth through 21, but my best work happens with the busy, curious, wonderfully unpredictable 2- to 5-year-old crowd (2’s and 3’s if I’m really picking favorites). I’m especially passionate about developing early language and teaching those skills to parents and caregivers—helping families feel confident, supported, and equipped to build communication skills that stick and generalize beyond a therapy session.
